Of note: Two of Tennessee’s most storied high school football programs. The Indians, who opened
the doors to Dobyns-Bennett in 1919, have more football wins (693) than any school in the state
and have an all-time record of 693-206-28. That’s a winning percentage of .762. D-B claims 13 state
championships, but none since the inception of the playoff format in 1969. The Tribes’ last state title
came in 1964.
Oak Ridge, which started playing football in 1943, is 552-148-11 all-time.
The Wildcats have won eight state championships -- the last in 1991 -- and four titles since the
playoff system was incorporated. Oak Ridge’s all-time winning percentage is .784.
